1995 – 2015 : There’s now 20 years i’m programming music with my computer with now more than 1000 songs. So it’s a good moment to let your (re)discover some of them each week !
The first one i choose is “Beyond the Galaxy” written in the end of 1996 with my brand new PC Pentium, this track is some kind of Amiga Shoot’m up style. At that time i wrote especially Techno tracks but i touched to all kind of music and writing video games music is allready things i liked. In 1996, i was still working in .S3M file format with Scream Tracker III and after 1 year and half, that was my 262th song.
This module use samples coming from classical amiga set and there are a melody part played with a Piano like “Dream Music” that i really liked in 96. Many times have passed till i’ve written this song and i know many of you also like that track. There a point i notice now, the fact that it sounds like a Rock music using realy oldschool sounds.
Oldschool tracks written in 96 find a new life in this new Jamendo album : Gimme An Amiga, remembering the time i was dreaming i’ll have an Amiga !
In 1993, two friends show me the Amiga 500, this incredible computer was powerfull to play video-game but also for musical creations especially with Sound Tracker software using samples as instrument. During long month i was dreaming i’ll had an Amiga, but i should wait june 95 before i had an equivalent tool on my PC.
In more than 1 year, i’ll composed most than 300 tracks with Fast Tracker, Scream Tracker, inspirated by the production of Amiga musicians as 4Mat, Moby, Bjorn Lynne, Barry Leitch,… This new album was a souvenir from that time. When i worked with just a 80386 computer with 40mhz processor, only 1mo of memory and allready an older computer compare the brand new Intel Pentium, but enough to write kwel musics ! Those one was just a little remasterised to give you more than just the original .MOD files signed by old name Mc Piet
Let’s go back to the early new millenium… At that time, i discovered Internet, and start a new life… That period inspirated me a lot this new album, releasing in september 2001. Still influence from Trance and Chitpune, anyway, at that time, the Neo Disco receive success, and i also would like to touch that style… May be did you also recognize inspiration from Moby, Daddy DJ, The Mackenzie feat. Jessy or Bombfunk Mc’s…
So let’s have an heard of this album, back on the web, realised with Impulse Tracker (MS-DOS) and finalised with the new VST technology in Modplug Tracker !!
This is not planned but two unreleased albums have just been released on Jamendo. “La guerre des pâquerettes” and “Bouéville” was waiting there since few month, and due to technical reason, they have been released yesterday 😉
The songs included in those album are written since 2003 to 2005 and many of them are allready available on the website.
Both propose music written for video games. La guerre des paquerette is a adventure game starring the Black’s knight. this game was developped by Arcallians. The second albums proposed many songs written for different Boué Team games developped by Sylvain Sarrailh. (do you remember him, it’s Toad who have realised the different illustration from cyborgjeff)
